What are SMART goals?
The word SMART is an acronym where we can use it for our goal setting. This goal setting method helps your goal to be reliable, achievable and time oriented.
- Specific- Well defined, clear and significant
- Measurable- Motivational, specific criteria to measure your progress.
- Achievable- an attainable goal
- Realistic- result based, relevant.
- Time based- Time oriented goal.
How SMART goals related to overcoming of exam phobia?
An exam is an evaluation method of a student, an undergraduate, etc. to evaluate his or her progress in a given subject area. But this evaluating method has caused ruckus in students mind creating stress. If a student, follow the SMART goal setting method he or she will be able to face the examination without any fear and will be able to score good marks. For an example, if an Advanced level who has a medium knowledge of the subject in his final year of A/Ls can set a goal, that he or she's going to allocate same amount of time to all three subjects, doing past papers based on the lesson, etc in this final year. Yes, this goal setting is transparent, reliable, achievable and timely oriented. So with SMART goal setting, a student can be confident about the knowlege that he or she has, and will be able to achieve the target without any exam stress.
